FRANKFORT — Kentucky Retirement Systems (KRS) has announced the appointment of Rebecca Adkins as interim executive director, office of operations, effective Jan.16. In this role Adkins will oversee the Divisions of Enterprise and Technology Services, Procurement and Office Services, Accounting, and Employer Reporting Compliance and Education. “Rebecca’s work at KRS has resulted in her involvement in almost every department including those for which she is taking over responsibility.” said David Eager, executive director of KRS.

Adkins replaces Karen Roggenkamp who has accepted a position as the deputy executive director of the School Employees Retirement System of Ohio. “For six years, Karen has been an extremely valuable contributor to our staff, the management team and the KRS Board. At the same time, we are fortunate to have someone of Rebecca’s caliber and experience who can immediately step into this very important role for KRS.” said Eager.

Adkins served in various KRS technology positions from 1987 through 1995. After several years working as a software developer in the private sector, Adkins returned to KRS in 2001 to provide technical and consulting expertise to the technology team in support of the legacy system and other initiatives. Beginning in 2012, Adkins held multiple managerial positions until becoming director of enterprise & technology services in 2017.
