New members have been named for the government committees for the City of Middlesboro.

Just like City Council, the seven committees also hold meetings each month that are open to the public. The meetings are held prior to the City Council meetings that are on the third Tuesday of the month at 5:45 p.m.

“The council and I are working on several issues to continue moving forward,” said Mayor Rick Nelson. He said council members will focus on working with an insurance company to fix the civic center, evaluating if the pool will open this summer, and evaluating incentives for new business owners updating their buildings.
