A 28-year-old Middlesboro man died Tuesday following a structure fire at 24th Street and Chester Avenue.

Trey Branscome died while being transported by ambulance from the scene to Middlebsoro ARH, according to Bell County Deputy Coroner Don Horton.

Branscome worked at Kroger in Middlesboro. His body will be taken to Frankfort to be examined.

The fire was reported just before 7:30 Tuesday morning. Middlesboro Fire Department, EMS and the Middlesboro Police Department responded to the scene.

The fire department and an arson investigator are continuing to investigate what could have caused the fire. The exterior of the structure remained standing after the fire, but signs of smoke and fire damage were visible.
