Harrogate man facing multiple charges in Middlesboro

A Harrogate man is facing multiple charges in Middlesboro following his arrest New Year’s Eve.
Gus Dale Robbins, 41, was arrested by Middlesboro Police Officer Jeremiah Johnson
after leaving the BP Gas Station on 38th Street.
Robbins is accused of taking $57.49 worth of merchandise from the store and putting it inside his pants
before fleeing the scene.
The citation also states that once Robbins was in custody he displayed slurred speech, slow
reaction time, and he was also unstable on his feet.
Robbins remains in jail at the Bell County Detention Center and is charged with theft by unlawful
taking/shoplifting under $500, disorderly conduct second degree, fleeing or evading police on
foot second degree, and public intoxication.
According to the report, this was Robbins’ fifth arrest in 2019.
