Fourth arrest made in Cawood parking lot shooting

Harlan Police have arrested a fourth man in connection with a shooting that took place in the parking lot of Cawood Elementary school on Dec. 11.
Sgt. Jeff Owens arrested 18-year-old Gordon Fultz Wednesday afternoon and charged him with attempted murder, wanton endangerment first degree, and unlawful possession of a weapon on school property.
Fultz is being held in the Harlan County Detention Center as the case remains under investigation.
The first arrests in the case occurred on Dec. 18 when detectives and troopers with the Kentucky State Police and Harlan County Sheriff’s Office located 21-year-old Daniel Hensley and 27-year-old Robert Middleton at a residence on Nola Street in the Cawood community of Harlan County. A third arrest was made later that day by KSP and the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office when 20-year-old James Brown was located.
All three men were arrested on warrants obtained by Detective Josh Howard.
Brown, Hensley and Middleton were charged with attempted murder, two counts of wanton endangerment first degree, tampering with physical evidence, criminal mischief first degree, and unlawful possession of a weapon on school property. All three are being held in the Harlan County Detention Center.
