Bell County, Pineville get weekend wins

Lambdin’s threes leads Bell County past Floyd Central, 73-44
Senior guard Ryan Lambdin connected on five three-pointers in the first quarter and finished with 23 points to lead Bell County over the Floyd Central Jaguars at the WYMT Mountain Classic tournament on Saturday, 73-44.
Bell County led 25-10 after one quarter and outscored the Jags 20-10 in the second, for a 45-20 advantage at the half.
Floyd Central managed only 9 points in the third. At the start of the final quarter, Bell lead 67-29 and went on to secure a 73-44 victory.
Lambdin was followed in scoring by London Stephney with 16, and Tyler Partin with 13.
The Jaguar effort was led by E. Mullins with 8, D. Younce with 8, and T. Hall with 8.

Pineville defeats Owsley County, 54-40
A strong defensive effort in the first quarter pushed the Pineville Mountain Lions past the Owsley County Owls at the PRTC Classic tournament in Jackson County on Saturday by a score of 54-40.
Pineville came out strong on defense in the first quarter, holding the Owls to just four points while scoring 13. The Owls played even with the Mountain Lions in the second, outscoring Pineville 12-11. At the half, Pineville led 24-16.
In the third quarter, Pineville’s defense came out strong again and held Owsley to only four third quarter points while scoring 11. At the end of the third, Pineville maintained a 35-20 lead.
Owsley outscored Pineville 20-19 in the fourth but the Mountain Lions held on for a 54-40 win.
Dalton Mason led Pineville in scoring with 15. He was followed by Landon Couch with 10, Ben Goodin with 9 and Eli Thompson with 9.
Owsley County was led by Andrew Noe with 13 points. He was followed by Brandon Lynch with 12, Austin Evans with 9 and Trent Sebastian with 6.
