Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College has been awarded an $80,000 POWER grant by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). This grant will help the college secure investors and develop projects for downtown revitalization in multiple counties throughout southeast Kentucky.

The project will include investment case studies and yield a set of recommended investments as well as a communications strategy to help market these opportunities to local communities, developers, and philanthropies. The project is a collaboration between a number of POWER grant recipients in southeast Kentucky, and is a partnership between SKCTC, the University of Kentucky, and the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky, among others.

“We are grateful for the support of the Appalachian Regional Commission,” says Dr. Vic Adams, SKCTC President. “These grants help us to transform lives and communities throughout our service region.”
