Early Saturday morning, Pineville Police Officer Brandon Hollingsworth was dispatched to Jones Avenue in Pineville on the complaint of a suspicious blue Chevrolet Trailblazer.
Upon arrival, Officer Hollingsworth made contact with 45-year-old Donnie Rutherford who was outside the vehicle. Following a search of Rutherford and the vehicle, Rutherford was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance first degree first offense methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana. He was also served an outstanding warrant from Bell County for a probation violation on theft by unlawful taking.
According to the citation, Officer Hollingsworth states that Rutherford appeared very nervous. The officer walked up to the door of the Trailblazer and looked inside where he was able to see a clear baggie containing marijuana.
Officer Hollingsworth then asked Rutherford if there was anything else illegal inside the vehicle and Rutherford then stated that there was a container with methamphetamines inside.
During the search, Officer Hollingsworth found a pink and silver container between the driver’s seat and the center console that had a crystal-like substance that was believed to be methamphetamines. The same substance was also found in a clear baggie in the passenger seat.
Rutherford is being held in the Bell County Detention Center.
