Christy Blevins from the Bell County Extension office conducted a program called LEAPS for Reading for Lone Jack School Center’s preschool and kindergarten classes on Aug. 22. Blevins read the students the book titled, More Spaghetti I Say, to Brenda Ferguson’s kindergarten class.

Connecting a hands-on lesson to the book, she made pasta for the students to experience and enjoy. To their surprise, many students found that they liked the pasta. Here, Makenna Smith-Jones (kindergarten) enjoys helping Blevins make pasta salad.
