Two escape Bell County Detention Center

Two inmates escaped from the Bell County Detention Center last night at 9:11 a.m.

According to Bell County Jailer Gary Ferguson, David Mosley, 41, and Matthew Price, 45, attacked jail staff. The two succeeded in overpowering the staff and were able to make their escape.

The injuries sustained by the staff included one member being sprayed in the eyes with bleach while another had their ribs broken. All injured parties were treated at Pineville Community Hospital.

Mosley is describe as being 6-1 and balding. He was being held on charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, receiving a stolen fireman, drug trafficking as well as possession.

Price is described as 5-9, 170 pounds. He was being held on charges of fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment of police, multiple reckless driving with a motor vehicle charges and he was being jailed for warrants of criminal mischief — which included burglary.

The Pineville Police Department, Bell County Sheriff’s Office and Middlesboro Police Department are all on the case while the Kentucky State Police head the investigation.

It is urged that if you see either of these two, to not under any circumstances engage them and to call the police immediately.
