Survivors’ Dinner slated for August

The Bell County Relay for Life doesn’t stop at the relay itself. The organization and volunteers will also host a special survivors’ dinner for all who wish to attend.

The dinner, dubbed the Survivor Celebration Dinner, will be held on Aug. 23 at Old Yellow Creek Baptist Church in Middlesboro.

Guests are invited to come together to celebrate life, hope and honor all cancer survivors and caregivers. The night promises to feature good food, music and company.

Elizabeth Bisceglia, a Relay for Life volunteer, has had her life affected by cancer due to losing people family members to the disease and see’s the dinner as “a chance for cancer survivors to meet with other survivors and share their stories and allow us to honor and give us the chance to tell them we really appreciate them,” she said.

All who attend will receive a “survivor metal” and gift bags. There is also a speaker scheduled to address the guests.
