The Lone Jack School Center’s FRYSC welcomed Michael Fuson as an eighth grade career speaker to teach the importance of staying in school and learning as much as possible while there.

He taught students how math, science and different subject areas have helped him and his family earn a living with woodworking, which is a career he absolutely loves and is passionate about.

Fuson showed the children two different bowls he made out of wood. He discussed how the bowls had been put together — kind of how you would put a puzzle together — and showcased his great talent through his work.

He explained all of the aspects of his career, including making kitchen cabinets, bookshelves, etc. He also spoke to students about considering their futures now, even before attending high school, so they would have a direction of what subjects to take in high school to better prepare them for the career paths they choose.
