Bobcats continue to pick up steam, defeats JFWA 13-1

Bell County continued to gain momentum on Monday with another impressive outing. The Bobcats extended their current winning streak to three games with a 13-1 blowout over J. Frank White Academy.

Hitting was a key for the Bobcats against the Knights. The team tallied eight hits on the day compared to just three hits by J. Frank White.

It was Jason Jones who paced Bell County at the plate with two hits and three RBIs. DJ Estes finished the game with one hit and one RBI. JM Baker finished with a hit as well. Chandler Mink tallied two RBIs before the game ended.

Antonio Zachery picked up the win on the mound. The junior pitcher threw the complete game allowing only one run while garnering four strikeouts. Noah Robertson was credited with the loss for J. Frank White allowing 10 runs through three innings of work.

The game was never in question as the Bobcats rattled off eight runs in the first and two runs in the second to grab a 10-run lead. After a silent third inning, Bell County ballooned their lead to 13-0 after scoring three runs in the fourth.

The Knights prevented the shutout by scoring a run in the bottom half of the fifth.

Up Next

Bell County (5-2) was slated to host Oneida Baptist Institute on Tuesday. They have two games scheduled for Friday. The first is a 5:30 p.m. outing at Jellico, Tennessee. The second is an 8 p.m. game at Hancock County, Tennessee.
