Two players from the coverage area earned regular season honors for their work on the hardwood. Members of the 13th Region media selected Jill Enix and Brittney Cupp First-Team All District with both also receiving individual awards.

Enix leads the way receiving top honors in the 51st District. She was voted as the Player of the Year for the district. Naturally, she was also voted First-Team All 51st District.

This is the second year in a row that Enix has received top honors in the 51st District. Last year, she was also named the player of the year and First-Team All 51st District.

Enix is currently Pineville’s top scorer and rebounder. She is averaging a double-double tallying a team-high 15.7 points per game and 11.7 rebounds.

Enix’s efforts on the glass has her ranked 12th in the state in rebounds.

For Bell County’s Cupp, she received the award for Breakthrough Player of the Year and was the only player outside of Harlan County to earn First-Team All 52nd District honors.

In her first year and only year with the Lady Cats, Cupp changed the dynamic of the team. She has helped the team to a 19-9 record while earning victories over district foes Harlan and Middlesboro.

Cupp ends the regular season averaging a double-double. She leads Bell County in scoring with 14.6 points per game while shooting a team-best 49.8 percent from the field. She also leads the team in rebounds averaging 13.8 boards per game.

In addition to her success in the district, Cupp has proven she is one of the elite rebounders in the state ranking fourth in Kentucky in rebounds.
