AYSO soccer spring registration now open

Registration for AYSO spring soccer in the tri-state area is now open. Children ages 3 to 18 can be registered online at http://www.ayso551.org/. Those new to the website can click the “Register Now” button at the top of the page to sign up to play. Returning players can click the login button to register for the spring season.

Registration began on Jan. 21 and will run through April 7. The season begins March 17 and will continue through May 19. The price to register is $22.50.

AYSO Region 551 is located in the states of Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia. Region 551 is part of AYSO Section 51.

According to their website, AYSO is a national non-profit soccer organization that is volunteer-based and child focused. The organization strives to deliver a quality youth soccer program which promotes a fun, family environment.

Every girl and boy stepping on a field for the first time can have fun while they develop soccer skills and learn to enjoy the world’s most popular sport.

According to their mission statement, AYSO’s vision is to provide world class youth soccer programs that enrich children’s lives. Their mission is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs which promote a fun, family environment based on AYSO’s Six Philosophies:

• Everyone plays;

• Balanced teams;

• Open registration;

• Positive coaching;

• Good sportsmanship;

• Player development.

The mission is accomplished by providing these essential services: Coaching and referee programs including quality delivery systems, quality administrative and operating systems with a support network, strong financial position, special network for volunteers, supported by a national staff, and program research and development.
