The Bell County Cooperative Extension Service hosted their annual Go Red for Women Luncheon on Friday. Participants wore their red to raise awareness for heart disease, as February is National Heart Month. Nicole Pursifull, nurse practitioner, was on hand to talk about ways to prevent heart disease and improve your overall health. Just making lifestyle changes can prevent 80 percent of cardiac events, she said. The group shared ways they would improve their health by exercising, having their blood pressure checked and watching their diet. Exhibitors at the luncheon included Kathy Oller with Grace Health and Christy Blevins, UK Extension Snap-Ed assistant.
