The Children’s Reading Foundation of Kentucky (CRFA-KY) is currently seeking family and literacy-based service and business organizations to help add to the fun of this year’s Read Across America Event to be held at the Middlesboro Mall on March 3 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Performers and entertainment slots are also available for area talent and groups who wish to strut their stuff on center stage.

The Children’s Reading Foundation would like to invite all area schools, family resource centers, parent liaisons, librarians/media specialists, reading coaches/specialists and day care centers to join. Health and social services, Head-Start and preschool professionals, teacher-education organizations, and local authors would each make a grand addition to this event which features activities, entertainment and exhibits geared to family, literacy and children services.

Vacation Bible Schools, Girl and Boy Scout troops, reading programs and camps, personal tutors, gymnastics, martial arts, and dance studios will each find a target audience at this celebration held in honor of the birth of beloved children’s author and illustrator, Dr. Seuss. Read Across America 2018 is the opportunity for the community to celebrate year-long efforts to make sure that all children in our area learn to read early, and learn to read well.
