The Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) Paul V. Hamilton School of Art, Humanities and Social Sciences will host the Celebration of Law event from 2:30-4 p.m. in the Hamilton Math and Science, located on the main campus in Harrogate, on Feb. 8.

Designed for students interested in legal careers or law school, the event gives students the chance to learn more about opportunities within the field of law. Legal professionals including lawyers, district attorneys, judges and law school professors will be on hand to network with students. Participants will get one-on-one time with each of the special guests to hear more about the career opportunities that can be unlocked by attending law school. Local high school students, community college students and parents are invited.

“There can be a lot of misconceptions about what a legal career will be like. This is an opportunity for our students to network with professionals working in the field,” said Dr. Martin Sellers, dean of the Paul V. Hamilton School of Art, Humanities and Social Sciences. “Our goal is show students the many different career paths that are available through a law degree.”

Staff, students and faculty from the LMU Duncan School of Law (LMU Law) will also be on hand to provide information about all aspects of law school. Admissions representatives will counsel prospective students on the qualifications and prerequisites to apply to law school and how to prepare for the LSAT. LMU Law students will share their own experiences and tips about the admissions process and the rigors of law school.
