Pineville falls 44-39 to Lady Redhounds

Corbin ended a two-game skid on the road Tuesday when they traveled to Pineville. The Lady Lions, who were on a two-game winning streak entering the game, couldn’t find the momentum they needed and lost to the Lady Hounds 44-39.

For Pineville, it was their first loss since being bounced from the 13th Region All A Classic on Jan. 9. Corbin picked up their first win since defeating Knox Central a week ago.

The shot just wasn’t there for the Lady Lions on Tuesday. Pineville missed all seven of the three-point attempts while finishing with a 38.1 percent mark from the field. The Lady Lions was fairly accurate at the charity stripe connecting on 77.8 percent of their shots.

Jill Enix, Whitney Caldwell and Raigan King each hit double figures during the game. Enix led the trio with 12 points while going 6-for-9 from the field. She also notched a double-double after hauling in 10 rebounds.

Both Caldwell and King finished the night with 10 points. Caldwell shot the ball at a 45.5 percent clip. King hit 50 percent of her shots.

For Corbin, Shelby Stewart and Marissa Scott led the way. Stewart finished with a team-high 12 points with all of her points coming from three-point range. Scott ended the game with 10 points while shooting 80 percent from the field.

Cora Stevens led the Lady Redhounds in rebounds with eight. Makenzie Grant was not far behind with seven boards.

Up Next

Pineville (14-5) hits the road on Thursday to square off against Harlan (9-9). Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.

Corbin (7-14) will play Bell County (12-8) on Saturday.
