Ariel Winds to perform at LMU

HARROGATE, Tenn. — Lincoln Memorial University will host Ariel Winds for both a master class and a concert on Feb. 1 in the Sam and Sue Mars Performing Arts Center in Duke Hall of Citizenship. The master class will be held at 4 p.m. and the performance will be at 7:30 p.m.

The performance is free and open to the public. The master class for musicians is open to LMU students and local high school students who play wind instruments.

Ariel Winds is an all-female ensemble combining wind instruments, specifically the flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon. Hailed as “technically brilliant, refined and innovative,” Ariel Winds is known for connecting with audiences of all ages. The ensemble has delighted listeners in some of North America’s most prestigious concert venues including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Alice Tully Hall and Merkin Concert Hall. They were winners of the Artist International Auditions and recipients of a Chamber Music America Rural Residency in Stephenville, Texas.

Renowned for their fantastic family concerts and educational programs, Ariel Winds created interactive concerts for the NY Philharmonic School Partnership Program, the 92nd Street Y, and Young Audiences of New York and Connecticut. Members of the ensemble are graduates of the Juilliard School, McGill University, Boston University, Stony Brook University and the Manhattan School of Music.
