Page wins county tournaments

Bell County elementary schools held their boys county tournament for A-team (7th and 8th grade) and B-team (5th and 6th grade). Page earned the sweep repeating as county champions in both tournaments.

The A-team tournament was held at Bell County High School Dec. 11 – 14. In the first round, Bell Central defeated Yellow Creek and Lone Jack defeated Frakes. In the second round, Page defeated Bell Central 47-22 and Right Fork defeated Lone Jack

Against Bell Central, Dalton Stepp paced the Wildcats with 16 points. Cole Hoskins chipped in nine points, while Walker Landrum added seven points to the final tally.

George Pace led Bell Central with 11 points. Ethan Smith added four points to the scoreboard.

Page won the championship by defeating Right Fork 37-30. This time, it was Cameron Burnett that took center stage scoring a game-high 24 points with Hoskins scoring six points.

Right Fork was paced by Dawson Woolum’s 19 points with Carter McCune adding six points.

The third place game was also held with Lone Jack defeating Bell Central.

The county B-team tournament was held at Frakes Elementary on Dec. 12-16. In the first round was Lone Jack defeating Frakes and Yellow Creek defeating Right Fork. Page defeated Lone Jack 16-9 in the second round. Bell Central defeated Yellow Creek.

Blake Burnett led Page against Lone Jack with seven points. Cameron Hall finished with five points while Elijah Hampton tallied four.

For Lone Jack, it was Mason finishing with six points and Heck tallying three.

The championship was held on Dec. 16 with Page defeating Bell Central 27-23.

During the game, Blake Burnett came up with a team-high 12 points to pace Page. Hall finished with six. Hampton and Gavin Mathews rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats with five and four points, respectively.

Bell Central was led by Brayden Dunn’s 12 points with Gauge Bauer chipping in eight points. Noah Brock scored two points, while Tate Murphy added a point.

Yellow Creek defeated Lone Jack in the third place game.

Second — Page coached by Ashley Sharpe;

Third — Yellow Creek coached by Courtney Weaver.

B-team cheerleading competition

First — Yellow Creek coached by Charity Hayes and Mandy Creech;

Second — Bell Central coached by Deanna Farmer and Ashley Harris;

Third — Frakes coached by Cierra Emery.
