Lady Cats earn victories over Clinton, Williamsburg

Bell County has been on a roll at McCreary Central this week. The Lady Cats have added three wins to their record while playing in the Arby’s Holiday Classic. Since opening the week with a victory over McCreary Central, Bell has defeated Clinton County and Williamsburg.

On Thursday, the Lady Cats won their second straight game by double digits with a 62-40 win over Clinton County.

It was senior Brittney Cupp who asserted her dominance in the post against the Lady Bulldogs. She finished with a game-high 16 points while shooting 53.3 from the field. She capped off her double-double effort with 13 rebounds.

Abby Harris scored 11 points on the day while shooting the ball at a 50 percent clip. She went 3-for-4 form the free-throw line as well and grabbed five rebounds. Karlee Cox ended the day with 10 points.

Clinton County was paced by Alexis Roberts’ 14 points. Rylee Stockton chipped in eight points, while Braylee Mann scored six points to go along with her team-high eight rebounds.

On Friday, Bell County earned a close 57-55 victory over Williamsburg. The win extended the Lady Cats’ current streak to three games and improved their record to 4-5.

Bell County (4-5) will wrap up their trip to the Arby’s Holiday Classic on Saturday when they square off against Wayne County (1-6).
