Pineville defeats Lady Tigers

Pineville’s winning streak continued on Tuesday when the team traveled to Barbourville. The Lady Tigers pushed the Lady Lions ending Pineville’s four-game streak of double-digit victories. The Lady Lions were still able to earn a 48-39 victory on the road.

Pineville remains one a few teams in the 13th Region that are still undefeated. They join reigning regional champs Harlan County (6-0) and Whitley County (6-0). South Laurel, Knox Central and Williamsburg each have one loss.

Jill Enix led Pineville across the board against Barbourville. The senior forward registered her third double-double of the season with 16 points and 15 rebounds. She attempted a team-high 18 shots throughout the game.

Makenzie Fuson put together another impressive game tallying eight points whiling pulling down eight rebounds. Raigan King finished then night with nine points and six rebounds.

Barbourville was paced by the efforts of Anna Daniels. The senior forward finished with a team-high 16 points while attempting a game-high 26 shots. She also tallied eight boards.

Caylan Mills grabbed five rebounds to go along with her 10 points, while Shelbie Jones tied for a team-best eight rebounds.

Up Next

Pineville (5-0) returns to action on Thursday when they travel to play Cumberland Gap, Tennessee.

Barbourville (3-4) will hit the road to battle Somerset (0-6) on Saturday.
