Local garden club meets

Liz Lamont, Barbara Evans and Charlene Rucker recently hosted the October meeting of the Middlesborough Garden Club.

Members made kokedamas, which are a form of Japanese sting gardens. Paula Wright, from the University of Tennessee, was the presenter.

Members brought arrangements made from recyclable materials for vase arrangements.

The upcoming Mountain Laurel District meeting was planned which will be held in Middlesboro.

The group discussed applying for the Plant America Community Grant sponsored by the National Garden Clubs for news and existing projects in their communities. A contribution was made to the Victorian garden by Smithfield Foods.
