ALLM to present Halloween story time

Published 6:01 pm Friday, October 27, 2017

The Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum (ALLM) has Halloween activities planned for trick-or-treaters. Children are invited to visit from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 31 for story time, featuring You Wouldn’t Want to Be a Civil War Solider! and You Wouldn’t Want to Be a Civil War Nurse!

These stories target a child’s fascination with all things gross and provide a perfect educational pre-trick-or-treating activity. The not-so-scary stories begin at 3:30 p.m. with a reading of You Wouldn’t Want to Be a Civil War Soldier! and 4 p.m. for You Wouldn’t Want to Be a Civil War Nurse! Children can pick up a treat at the Museum between readings and admission to the Museum is free for all on this day. For more information, call 423-869-6607 or email natalie.sweet@lmunet.edu.

Lincoln Memorial University’s (LMU) annual Halloween Havoc event will follow in Tex Turner Arena from 6 to 8 p.m. The program, which offers a safe and indoor trick-or-treating experience, is free and open to the public. University organizations, departments and student clubs will distribute treats around the concourse of the arena.
