A member of the 1996 class of Middlesboro High School, Green traveled to Lexington to further his education at the University of Kentucky. In 2001, he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science and Civil Engineering degree, as well as Magna Cum Laude, with a Master’s of Business Administration degree.

After graduation, Green returned home to work for the family business. Founded in Middlesboro by Clarence “Bow” Green in 1950, Green Construction is a family-owned commercial construction business. He currently serves as owner and president of the company, following in his father’s and papaw’s footsteps.

“Growing up in Middlesboro, I took our city for granted,” Green noted. “However, after returning home after college, I saw the potential of our hometown. I then made the decision to become more involved in the community. Each organization allowed me to experience different aspects of our city and region and enlightened me to the many challenges facing our city. By serving on the city council for the last seven years, I have developed an understanding of our city: its strengths, weaknesses and most importantly its opportunities. Now, I am ready to take the next step in service to my community by running for mayor. Middlesboro has great promise in the next few years and beyond. With the right leadership and vision, our city can take that next step. I look forward to the opportunity to lead my hometown in that direction.”

The son of Bob and Carol Green, Green is an active member of the Covenant United Methodist Church and recently became engaged to Larah Davenport.
