Pineville man arrested on rape charge

A Pineville man was arrested on Sept. 22 on a charge of first-degree rape.

According to the citation, Johnny Collins, 49, of Pineville was arrested by Kentucky State Police Trooper Keith Baker. The offense was reported to have occurred on July 3 against a 14-year-old female by “forcible compulsion.”

Collins is currently lodged at the Bell County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.

In other police news:

• Precious Hoskins, 43, of Middlesboro, was arrested Sept. 19 by Middlesboro Police Department Officer Nick Capps on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third-degree possession of an unspecified drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree disorderly conduct and was served a bench warrant.

• Jeffery Laws, 46, of Middlesboro was arrested Sept. 19 by Capps on a charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

• Alma Weaver, 57, of Middlesboro, was booked Sept. 21 by the Pineville Police Department on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, buying/possessing drug paraphernalia and probation violation.

• Diane Montana, 60, of Speedwell, was arrested Sept. 21 by MPD Officer Barry Cowan on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first-degree fleeing or evading police, second-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, theft or unlawful taking under $500 and operating a motor vehicle under the influence.

• Jason Walters, 39, of Magnolia, was arrested Sept. 22 by MPD Officer Jeremiah Johnson on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Valorie Smith, 42, of West Lafayette, Indiana, was arrested Sept. 22 by Johnson on a charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

• David Shelton, 45, of Flatlick, was arrested Sept. 22 by the Kentucky State Police on charges of theft by unlawful taking under $500 and theft by unlawful taking $10,000 or more but under $100,000.

• Caleb Cavins, 29, of Middlesboro, was arrested Sept. 22 by MPD Officer Joe Holder on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, second-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Benjamin Collins, 32, of Middlesboro, was arrested Sept. 23 by MPD Officer Edward Dray on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
